Finding the right words for this blog post, is hard. It is emotional. It is bitter sweet. It is also a true testimony to strength, love, compassion and happiness.
Mandy and Josh were married in August and what a beautiful wedding it was, just like so many amazing stories I capture and document every single week. The love they share, is perfect and true.
They married and celebrated at The George Hotel in Ballarat. We stopped traffic, at the iconic Victory Arch for photos - in the rain. We were given permission to take photographs in the amazing Ballarat Art Gallery, which is the oldest, original art gallery in Australia - Sande told us this, it made her so proud.
Josh and Mandy were determined to give Sandie (Josh's beautiful mother) her last dying wish - to see them marry, to see Mandy become the new Mrs Walters in Josh's life.
So, in just over two weeks, we made it happen. My faith in humanity has been restored. Businesses, friends, family and strangers worked together to create this magical day. Flights to Ballarat, Victoria were booked. I sat alongside my two beautiful friends, Bobby-Jo and Amy as we made the trip from Mackay.
Sandie got her wish. Sadly, just two days after the wedding, Sandie passed - bitter sweet. She shared stories with us and spoke so beautifully and full of love for Josh and Mandy, those moments, I will cherish forever.
Congratulations to you Mr and Mrs Walters, it was an honour.
